Stop the new Arctic drilling scheme!

Dear Senators:
Oppose Senator Murkowski’s legislation (S.3203) for new drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and Arctic Ocean. Already ground zero for climate change impacts, America’s Arctic is no place to drill for oil.

    Spread the Word

This week, a Senate committee will consider many bills that could put Alaska’s environment at risk. It includes legislation that promotes new drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and Arctic Ocean, including places in where polar bears and caribou raise their babies and hunt for food.
This short sighted Arctic assault threatens to rob Alaska and the U.S.  of some of its most prized and unique public areas for temporary, and mainly private, benefit. These lands and waters will be critical for Alaska’s future resiliency and sustainability as it develops subsistence, fishing, and tourism industries in an increasingly urbanized and changing world.
