In the face of our planet’s rising climate crisis, opening new frontiers like the Arctic Refuge to drilling simply makes no sense. Instead of moving forward with drilling, we must protect this land, as it is critical to the Porcupine Caribou Herd and the Gwich’in people who continue their subsistence way of life, as they have since time immemorial.
When you take action, you will be signed up to receive alerts from Alaska Wilderness League.
President Trump, Lisa Murkowski, and their allies in Congress rushed Arctic Refuge drilling into the tax bill without listening to the concerns of the American people. Now, they are continuing to cut corners in this process, by rushing to lease the Arctic Refuge to oil and gas companies.
Submit a comment reminding Trump that the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is still in fact a wildlife refuge, and not an oil field. Tell him that selling the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to the oil industry is irresponsible, and that no drilling should ever take place within its borders.
